She has proven success in senior management roles, strategic planning, financial management, and system design to recognize synergistic opportunities between systems and financial operations while reducing corporate risk. She has a strong history of leading high performance teams, achieving successful outcomes and building solid relationships. This Controller is also an entrepreneur herself and understands the dynamics of marketing/sales, the people side of the business as well as the numbers.
She has had a 15+ year career in financial management for a variety of companies in the insurance and health care industries. She served as Vice President of Financial Operations and Controller of a leading insurance firm where she worked since 1998. During her tenure, she was instrumental in many notable achievements including:
- Implementation of cash management analysis, benchmarking and statistical analysis to improve accounting processes to strengthen the organization’s balance sheet.
- Lead, as the finance subject matter expert, an $8 million systematic and process enhancement of legacy applications ensuring compliance with GAAP and successful financial operational alignment.
- Developed an analytical reporting module of revenues with multiple business segments to allow for accountability and transparency across divisions.
- Established and mentored a taskforce of senior management responsible for new business planning and align company strategic initiatives with new partners.
- Overseen and strategically lead Accounting, Finance and Credit & Collection divisions with over $900 million in revenues.
With her years of experience and variety of positions, she brings a depth and breadth of understanding to her clients which allows her to discover areas of deficiency, risk reduction opportunities, and improved financial positioning.
She has her Bachelor of Business Administration (BA) in Accounting from The University of Baltimore. Also, she is an entrepreneur and started her own business in 2010 in an entertainment franchise. She enjoys being with her family and helping out her community.
