With over 20 years of combined financial and business management experience, this CFO Advisor works in collaboration with Boards of Directors, Presidents, CEOs, Senior Executives, and Entrepreneurs to provide strategic financial strategy and oversight. Her role in many different organizations and industries has included developing strategic plans, improving operations through implementation of efficiencies, ongoing financial management and designing successions plans for mature businesses. Although her experience is broad, she has over 10 years experience working in the services industry including architectural and engineering firms, government contractors and construction companies. She has led a number of successful system conversions.
In 2002, the CFO Advisor launched a small business consultancy in 2002 to assist organizations with integrated business management (Accounting, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR) and Marketing). In 2005, she co-founded a real estate development firm where she successfully built solid relationships with citizens, community and business leaders while obtaining millions of dollars in equity funding from a venture capitalist. She is driven by motivating and empowering others and continues to demonstrate her passion and commitment to the business community by:
- Offering CFO advisory services to multidisciplinary firms providing sound financial leadership and strategies to organizations that increased revenue by 200% and net profits by 10%.
- Leading multiple ERP systems implementation and organizational change management for commercial and government contractors ensuring compliance with GAAP, CAS, FAR and DCAA.
- Overseeing and strategically leading Accounting, Finance, IT and HR teams for organizations with $1M to $12M in revenue.
- Developing exit strategies and succession plans for growing and mature companies, including buy/sell agreements, ownership trust and negotiating real estate and financing transaction
This CFO Advisor is frequently asked to speak at business conferences, facilitate panel discussions and business retreats.
Currently a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; American Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Society for Human Resource Management. She serves on the Development Committee for a non-profit organization (Peace x Peace) and as a Board Member for a minority owned telecommunications company. She has developed strategic alliances with several law firms, CPA firms, financial advisors and non-profit organizations, and business schools committed to small business initiatives.
She is a University of Maryland graduate with a B.S. degree in Finance & Accounting and received her MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business Executive MBA Program. She received several accolades and honors during her undergraduate and graduate studies and received her Certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional in 2005 by the National Development Council.
She remains active with her community by volunteering as a youth advisor encourages students to focus on their morals and values while dealing with the social challenges of college life. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing racquetball, and other outdoor activities.
